Single Sigma Mixers

Horizontal sigma mixers for cookies, crackers, bars, tortillas and more, in batch sizes from 600 to 7,200 lb.

One Mixer, Many Products

The CMC America Single Sigma is built for plants that need one dependable mixer for many products. Its sigma agitator moves the dough from each end of the bowl to the center and back again in a continuous mixing action, with a minimum of heat rise. The result is an even mix of every ingredient.

All CMC America mixers are USDA accepted, meet OSHA and ANSI standards, and can be manufactured to be FDA and CE conformant when required. We build them in Joliet, Illinois.

Superior by Design

Solid stainless steel agitators, heavy-duty gearboxes and industrial-grade components, built for decades of reliable service. The agitator mixes ingredients thoroughly while keeping heat rise to a minimum.

Cookies to Hearth Breads

Single sigma mixers work for biscuit and cracker doughs as well as yeast-raised hearth breads, so one mixer can handle many of your products.

Tailored to You

Specialized agitation, temperature control, automation or unusual capacities: we design each mixer around your products, production goals and plant. Thru-shafts are available.

Single Sigma Mixer Questions

Single sigma or double sigma: which do I need?

It depends on your product and batch size. Our single sigma handles a wide range of doughs, from cookies and crackers to hearth breads. Our double sigma is built for high-capacity batches of products like granola, bars and pretzel dough. Tell us what you make and how much, and we’ll recommend one.

What size single sigma mixer do I need?

Sizes run from the 2SS (600 lb batch) to the 20SS (7,200 lb batch). The right size depends on your formula and hourly output. Send us those details and we’ll recommend a model.

Can the mixer feed our line?

Yes. We build dough feeders and transport systems that take dough from the mixer to your extruder, depositor or next process. See our transport systems.

What warranty comes with a new mixer?

New CMC equipment comes with a written warranty. Coverage depends on the part, so please see our Warranty and Terms (PDF).

Do you have used single sigma mixers?
